With a virtually inexhaustible variety of editing options available in the linked Event, Matrix, Score and Hyper editors - as well as the Environment and Arrange window - Logic Gold supports almost any working style with ease.
The difference when compared to the larger, more expensive, Platinum version is primarily the lack of support for TDM audio hardware. With a maximum track count of 64 stereo or mono audio tracks and virtually unlimited MIDI tracks, even the most extravagant products can be accomplished with Logic Gold. Digital audio hardware systems offering up to 24 Bit/96 audio resolution are fully supported, and can even be supplemented with up to 64 extra native audio tracks. And with a generous quantity of superb-sounding Emagic effect plug-ins already included, Logic Gold is not only the ideal solution for desktop computers, but is also the premiere choice for the self-contained mobile laptop studio.
Logic Audio
With the current version, Logic Audio has reached a standard previously reserved to far more expensive systems - up to 48 audio tracks in stereo or mono, up to 16 instrument channels, 4 inserts and 8 sends per channel using 8 stereo or mono busses, 28 high quality effect plug-ins, live input support and 12 audio outputs. Additionally Logic Audio includes the track based automation system and the superior POW-r dithering found in the more powerful versions of the Logic line.
