New at the Summer NAMM show is Yamaha's 88-note weighted action S90 synthesizer. The S90 inherits many features from the popular S80 and comes equipped with the Balanced Hammer action and same sounds as the Motif 8 Music Production Synthesizer.
In Addition to the Motif sound collection, the S90 also features full 64-note polyphony, plus a new three velocity S700 grand piano sample.
A hands-on user interface provides full control and quick access to all functions, an ideal feature for live situations. The S90 even includes an audio input for plugging in a microphone and using onboard digital effects for solo performance and songwriting. Opening a world of musical, educational, and creative possibilities to musicians with personal computers, a bundled CD-ROM contains an audio/MIDI sequencer with an auto-arranging feature (SQ01 for Windows), voice editors for windows/mac, and card filer software.
